There's this really interesting genre of science fiction called Cyberpunk. I find this genre very fascinating. It depicts a dystopian futuristic society dominated by consumerism (not so much unlike our current reality), transhumanism, and just an overall electronic society. I don't know why I find this so fascinating, but I love to look at artistic illustrations of this genre, hence why I'm making this post. I'll share a few example illustrations to show what Cyberpunk art looks like.
This first picture definitely looks a bit cartoony, and the colors are usually a bit darker in typical Cyberpunk art.
This one is definitely a lot darker, and it doesn't really show much of the "futuristic" technology that's usually present in Cyberpunk art either. But the mood of the picture perfectly captures the atmosphere of what Cyberpunk art is typically like, and it's very fascinating.
Out of every example I've posted so far, this would have to be my favorite. It perfectly captures the dark mood of typical Cyberpunk art, along with the futuristic technology that's present in that reality. Virtual reality is a common theme in Cyberpunk art, and in some ways, we can definitely see that the world is heading towards a future where virtual reality will just continue to become more and more prominent.
